Thank you for your question!
For an arena of 140' x 270', using (6) 300W area lights likely won’t provide sufficient brightness. Based on our photometric designs, even upgrading to (6) 400W area lights results in only about 5.8 footcandles (FC) on average, below what’s typically recommended for arena lighting. 20FC recommend for casual outdoor arenas and at home training.
Also, tilting the lights at a 135-degree angle won’t significantly improve the ground-level brightness. Our engineer notes that a tilt angle between 0°–10° is usually sufficient and more effective.
For proper illumination, we recommend using at least (12) 600W VEGA Stadium Lights for balanced and bright coverage throughout the arena, the average brightness of 21.79FC provided from these lights.
We’ve created two lighting layouts for comparison. Please check the attachments and feel free to give us a call at 877-718-0808 to discuss the best solution for your project.

Ben
