Thank you for your question! The surface mount kit is designed to be installed in the center of the back of the light fixture. While it may be technically possible to mount the fixture from each end by drilling additional holes, we do not recommend this approach. Drilling into the fixture could potentially damage the housing and may void the product warranty.
That said, please rest assured that one centrally mounted surface kit is strong enough to securely support the fixture under normal installation conditions.
