The ALTA 4FT 300W LED High Bay Light is designed for commercial applications with mounting heights 25 ft or more, so it is generally not recommended for use in a residential garage.
When hung with a chain, any light fixture may have slight movement if there is airflow or vibration (such as from a garage door opening). However, in a residential setting, this model would be oversized and overly bright, and the chain mounting could allow some minor swinging.
For a private garage, we would recommend a lower wattage fixture with a rigid mount (surface or pendant mount) to avoid movement and provide more appropriate light levels. Like 105W Alta low bay light or LED Canopy Light.
