For a 36' × 48' pole barn with a 12' ceiling, the number of fixtures depends mainly on how you plan to use the space.
If you're using it as a bright workshop, we recommend approximately 8–10 of these 8ft LED vapor tight fixtures, which should provide an average brightness of approximately 42–50 foot-candles (FC).
If the barn will mainly be used for general storage, approximately 4–6 fixtures should provide a comfortable 20–30 FC average light level.
Each fixture produces up to 10,500 lumens and has a wide 120° beam angle, making it a good option for this type of space.
With the two large ceiling fans, we recommend arranging the fixtures evenly around the fans rather than directly above or too close to the fan blades. This helps minimize shadows and the strobing/flickering effect that can occur when fan blades repeatedly pass underneath a light source.
If you can provide the fan locations and approximate fan diameters, we can help determine the best fixture spacing. Please feel free to contact us @ contact@revolveled.com.
